Community protocols foster a common language and a common understanding of the VTRA model for all team and community partners.
One of the natural directions in the growth of the VTRA model and its implementation and use has been the development of community protocols across North America between schools and other community partners such as mental health, various police services, children’s aide societies, probation, hospitals, etc.
Community protocols promote a common language and understanding of the VTRA model, make use of a broad range of expertise, and solidify the importance of the multi-disciplinary approach that has proven to be so beneficial. Community protocols also foster timely collaboration, promote supportive interventions and implementation of preventative plans.
